Pre and post pregnancy fitness
When pregnant, exercising may feel like the last thing on your mind, but women who exercise find an improvement in muscle tone strength, an increase in fitness and just general wellbeing. The healthier and fitter you are during pregnancy, not only will help with the birth but also help to regain your pre-pregnancy body afterwards.
The exercises will need to be modified as your pregnancy progresses but a balance of light non-aerobic exercise to help improve fitness, Pilates to strengthen core and back with light resistance work to help improve muscle strength and tone.
After the initial 6-8 week break, post pregnancy exercise can be performed with a gradual increase of intensity as your fitness and strength improves.
Before commencing any exercise routine, you should first check with your Doctor, then when ready you can follow a structured and safe plan.
